Dodge Repair: E-85 Ethanol use in 2002 Intrepid, e 85 ethanol, flex fuel vehicle

Question
In march 2002 I purchased a Dodge Intrepid with a 2.7 liter engine which has served me very well for more than 100,000 miles. To date, the oil is still clear enough to read the dipstick through the oil with 3000 miles on the oil & filter change. Should I be worried about engine failure due to sludge build-up under the circumstances?

Also, this car is not a flex-fuel vehicle, however I've read some reports on the internet that suggest that E-85 fuels can be used in Dodge products not necessarily designed for E-85. My goal is to continue driving this car as it has served me well. Any thoughts on this?

Answer
the only real way to know if u have a sludge issue is to remove one of the valve covers and look.
As for e85  no yours is not  it will say flex fuel on it some where  if it was  plus u dont want to bother with using it any way u use more fuel by using e 85 any way so your gas mileage will go down.
