Dodge Repair: 2001 dodge intrepid, mechanic shop, professional mechanic

Question
my car was driving just fine until about 2 weeks ago. i stopped at a red light and it cut off as if i had turned it off. i didn't know it until i had proceeded to go at the green light. I started it back up and kept going until the next light and it did the same thing. The check engine light came on and stayed. I took it to auto zone and it read some type of sensor. On The way there it was going until you had to stop but it had started sputtering. The code at auto zone read some type of sensor call a map sensor. I had that put on there and the light did go off but came back on and started back sputtering. I took it to a professional mechanic shop and they said it was the computer. DO you have to get a brand new computer or can i use a remanufactured one? i purchased one from a salvage yard and had it put on but the mechanic said he couldn't get in the computer. I don't know what to do. Could it be something other than the computer. Once the computer got put on that i got from the salvage it stalled out three times and then would not restart. thank you very much for your time.

Answer
u created the starting and running 3 times by putting in a used PCM.  U have a  gray key  and U will need to have the computer programed to your car  if it even will  some times they wont. If the used computer has the same system with the gray key from another car  u more then likely wont be able to get it running again.  Now if it fixed your original prob  I doubt it  9 out of 10 times some one says it needs a computer is wrong.
