Dodge Repair: dodge caravan fuel pump burns up, dodge caravan, instulation

Question
The fuel pump went out, so I replaced it. New pump burned out the next day. The black wire on the pump got hot and burnt the instulation off about 1 1\2 inches up from the pump. Why is it doing this? 1989 dodge caravan v6 3.0 liter

thire is a short you will have to trace the black wire which is the ground wire it runs under the floor of the van . you can allways run a new ground . just cut and re wire and just find a olace on fram make a ground good luck to u pete and if you need more help just let me know pete







ps the relay is under the master cyl. dont think it is the prblem pete
