Ford Repair: 95 bronco, column shifter, steering column

QUESTION: i have a 95 bronco 5.8l e4od when i put it in reverse it blows the #5 fuse under the hood

ANSWER: does this vehicle have an over drive switch located in the shifter ???

this vehicle was known for the o/d button wiring to chaffe against the steering column and the shroud that covers the directional switch/shifter lever etc. remove the upper and lower covers of the shifter column. tape the wiring coming from the column shifter. ( you'll see the o/d wiring coming through it and might even notice a bare spot in the wire)
