Ford Repair: coil miss fire on number 5 cylinder, miss fire, v8

Question
I'm a welder mechanic but have little experience on autos. my experience is industrial, I'm telling you this so U will understand i do have knowledge of tools and such. i"ve been told this coil is pretty easy to change out. can you give me directions and exactly which cylinder is #5?
Thanks, lyndy

Answer
Hello, It would be helpful to know what kind of vehicle this is and the engine size ? assuming it's a v8. looking at the engine, #5 is the cyliner closest to you on the right side. v8's are numbered 1-4 on the left 5-8 on the right. you will first need to locate the coil. remove the connector by simply squeezing the top of it. using a 7mm socket. remove the retaining screw, remove the coil and replace. it's that easy..- hope this helps and take care.. -b-
