Ford Repair: my car has a skip, ford crown victoria, air control valve

Question
how u doing, i have a 1989 ford crown victoria ltd with a 5.0 engine, when i first crank my car up and put it in drive it either cuts off or wont stay idle. and also when im driving in over drive it starts to skip between 55 and 60 mph. have u heard of any of these problems and if so what can i do to fix them?

Answer
Yes, it is a bad MAP sensor. It is located on the firewall, above the throttle body, with a single vacuum line going to it. You could probably use a good cleaning of the throttle body and idle  air control valve as well. The only other possibility would be a tune up. Plugs, wires, cap, and button.Fuel filter and PVC are optional, but highly recommended.
