Ford Repair: 1997 Ford Escort, escort car, luck chris

Car has 170k with no previous knocks, noises or other problems. At startup, car
suddenly begins to knock horribly in the top end and shut off.  Subsequent
restart produce same result. Need help!

hey there, i hate to say this, but if there is any load metalic noise coming from an engine there is an obviouse mechanical malfunction, the best that can be done is have it properly dianosed, and hope that it isnt anything too seriouse. good luck
