Ford Repair: ABS System, ford explorer xls, jumping to conclusions

Question
I bought a used 2002 Ford Explorer XLS from a used car lot-said everything worked. I noticed that I don't have ABS working on this car, nor do I see the ABS "idiot" light when I turn the ignition on but definitely have the hardware for it. My oil change facility place thinks it was tampered with. Any suggestions? Not sure what fuses required for the ABS(owners manual missing) but from what I read on this web site, if you pull the fuse, then the ABS light comes on.

Answer
if fuse is blown abs light will come on-it will need to be checked before jumping to conclusions a reputable garage can do this for you-you can also pull the cluster to see if a bulb or led is missing or broke. in case you do think it has been tampered with i would let a garage with a solid reputation do this so everything would be documented in case your correct. keep in mind if it was tampered with it could have been done before they got it also so don't be quick to pass judgement cause with a used car anything can happen.
