Ford Repair: Ford engine, ford bronco, ford engine

Question
I have a 87 ford bronco and not exactly sure what engin is in it. I keep having problems with my starter and flywheel not wantion to line up right. They just grind and stuff. And i know u usually dont have to shim a ford starter. the casting numbers are    e4ae6015fa5 can someone identify this for me.  i was told is was a 400 but i beleive it is a 35w1

Answer
it will either be a 4.0 liter v6 engine, or a 5.0 liter v8 engine. you are right with the shims ford does not use any shims on the starters, if they are grinding then it is a good indication that the flywheel has a wrn spot of the startor motor itself has a worn drive gear, the startor will have to be removed to inspect this,
