Ford Repair: z71 bucking when fuel empty, chevy dealership, ford forum

Question
My 1998 z71 chevorlet truck bucks and snorts when the fuel is down to 1/4 of tank.  I put fuel cleaner in the tank when I fill it up, seems to temporarily stop problem.  I took it to the Chevy dealership and they claim I need a new radiator.  I just can't see how a radiator can cause those problems.  Any comments? My engine does not overheat

Answer
one this is a ford forum-but since your here-next time it gets down to 1/4 tank or less have someone run a fuel pressure and volume test on it
being a 98 i could see where you may need a radiator but i don't understand the relationship between that and your problem.

quit putting so much cleaner in your tank to much cleaner can be a bad thing-have someone pull a plug and see if it has red residue on it if so your using way to much cleaner-you can have correct pressure but if you don't have the volume then your not getting enough fuel-could be sucking air when low and it may be lower than you think when it is reading 1/4 also.
