Ford Repair: Code question/possible solutions??, haynes repair manual, vacuum lines
QuestionI have a 2001 Grand Marquis GS 4.6L. Throwing code P0412,secondary air injection system solenoid A circuit malfunction. Also in Haynes repair manual it defines code as,Secondary air system circuit open. If in your knowledge,could you tell me what and where this is??
AnswerWell, the secondary injection system is a modernized smog pump. It is about the size of an alternator located at the front of the engine, with a pulley on it. The solenoid is located near by, follow the lines. The code in question is usually associated with cracked hoses, or vacuum lines running to the pump itself.
