Ford Repair: 2001 taurus 3.0, taurus 3, camshaft synchronizer

at a low idle the engine has a little squeak sound i removed the belt to make sure that was not the sound my question is it common for the rocker arms to squeak and what is the fix?

if you check closely you will probable find the noise coming from center of engine-at rear where transmission and engine bolt together at rear of intake manifold-your camshaft synchronizer is going bad-you may also need sensor-it can be bought aftermarket from oreillys and probably advance auto parts-you need a tool to line it up or make sure it goes in just like the other one came out-it is located under the wiring harness and if it was an older engine the distributor would be there.
