"I have bought a 1994 GT Mustang 97000 miles.  I am changing the oil and when I took out the oil drain plug about of quart of oil came out.  When I remove the oil filter only the oil in the filter was released.  The dip stick still shows full.  Why don't all the oil come out?

was the oil dark-take a light and look up in the oil drain hole and see if there is sludge in it i have seen some that sludge up so much oil will be on top of sludge and will read on stick even though it is drained out under sludge otherwise it doesn't make sense-when you refill it how far up stick does oil show?
