Ford Repair: 1993 ford ranger, ford ranger, ground cable

Question
1993 ford ranger 6cyl.will not start sometimes makes a clicking noise. the battery is good and i have also changed the solenoid mounted on the sidewall where the clicking comes from.it may start right up you kill it then try again and it just clicks.any ideas

Answer
it sounds like you have a loose connection or a bad starter-check and see if one of your cables is getting warm when it is clicking
if so that cable is probably got a bad connection either loose or corroded-check both cables at the battery they should be clean and tight-check the ground cable at the block and positive at the starter they also should be clean and tight-their are a lot of batteries/starters and alternators replaced because of bad cable connections it all that is good then you probably have a bad starter.
