Ford Repair: 1986 Bronco 2 High Idle, throttle position sensor, air control valve

Question
Hey guys,
Im having some issues with my Bronco 2.
One day its running great, then i let it sit for one day then the next day i go out to start before work and its idling real high (around 2 grand or so) once it gets warmed up. I took off the Throttle position sensor and it didnt do anything, thinking it would revert to original settings, But it didnt.

If anyone can shed some light on this, that would Be great

Answer
Hello Brad, There is a cyl. shaped part with a connector at the end attached to the throttle body. It is called a idle air control valve, it may sticking open causing the high idle. Tap on it with a small hammer to see if the idle changes any, that's where I would start 1st. Hope this helps Thanks Tony
