Ford Repair: 1994 ford thunder bird, thunder bird, coil wire

my vehicle is a 3.8 v6 not super charged. the car will at times start but it idles hard almost like the motor is falling out but when i step on the gas it stalls. i replaced the fuel filter, plugs and wires. i bought a ignition coil but i don't know where it goes. any other suggestions on what it could be and where the ignition coil goes????

Follow the middle wire on the distributor cap. The coil wire will lead you right to the coil. As far as the stumbling foes, have the engine codes read. Even though it is not a newer model, you can still have the codes read. Instructions are usually in a repair or service manual.
