Ford Repair: Brake transmission release, brake light switch, ford taurus

Question
I have a 98 Ford Taurus after starting my car when I push in the brake peddle the transmission will not shift out of park at all.

Hello Larry, Check to make sure you have brake lights, the shifetr interlock is released when the brake pedal is pushed down by the brake light switch, if there is no power to it from the switch it will not release, check for a broken wire at the connector at the brake pedal and or the switch.
