Ford Repair: (ABS) light, ford f 150, hub assembly

Question
I own a 1997 ford f-150 ,and recently replaced the hub assembly which has a sensor on it ,when i went to start up the truck the abs light came ...does it just need to be cleared or reset?also when i drive the truck early in the morning, the rear brakes lock up,is that a rear sensor going or is that just wear ,the truck has 114,000 miles on it,can i reset the computer myself?

Answer
If the rear breaks are locking up then you have an ABS sensor going down. You didn't say whether the hub assembly was on the front or rear.Try to get the old way of resetting a code by disconnecting the battery cable out of you're system.Unfortunately too many people misunderstand the good fortune, bad for the wallet, that a (ABS,service engine soon)light brings. These lights come on generally after a trouble code has been tripped 5 or more times.Generally speaking because of a defective part. The light goes of when the part/sensor is performing correctly.Sometimes ABS sensors get a little dirt on them and trip like that so wash around the wheel wells really good.Unlikely that this will help you,but it is worth a shot.
