Ford Repair: 1999 escort rough idle, transmission mounts, cotton shirt

my 1999 escort sedan with the 2.0 engine has a rough idle that smooths out when the car is driven,but physically shakes the car when it's stopped. otherwise it starts and runs ok. it does not stall when idling,just has the roughness. the engine light deos not come on while running.i've heard it could be a bad pcv hose,idle air control ,or bad motor and/or transmission mounts. where do i begin?

Everything that you said are possibilities.I personally would start with a cotton shirt and a $4 can of air intake and throttle body cleaner.You can clean both with it.For future reference,I clean my 5.0 every other oil change.questions for a detailed explanation on how to do it.You can probably figure it out.However,a broken mount would explain the shaking.Good luck and let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
