Ford Repair: 95 Ford Thunderbird LX Transmission, overdrive switch, thunderbird lx

The transmission will not shift in high speed with over-drive off ..feels like it's slipping with overdrive on. The transmission fluid is normal.

There is an electronic sensor on the outside of the transmission on some 1995 models.Change the filter and fluid and replace the transmission or have it rebuilt.The sensor costs around $150."High speed" probably is over drive,so if it is turned off,it can't engage.I have found that cutting the overdrive switch on and off can cause excessive wear and tear on the overdrive.
