Ford Repair: 91 Ford Probe Gt Turbo, cv axles, cv joints

Question
I am considering buying this car but the cv joints are going out and he said I will need a spring for one of the rear brakes??....will these be expensive fixes?

Answer
You can usually get CV axles replaced for about $140 a piece, most of the time less than that. The spring for the rear brakes could be replaced when you have the rear brakes changed, because they probably need it.This would be another $100.That is a high estimate for a rear brake job.If you do buy the car, change the oil right off the bat.I would then replace the brakes before the axles.
