Ford Repair: ford f150, throttle position sensor, ford f150

Question
I have a 2000 Ford F150 It runs ruff at idle this problem developed after it was
given a full throttle acceleration it also seems to be pinging. It's a 5.4 l throttle
body. Has 117.000miles on it. Is it comon for these engines to jump time
because this seems to be what happened?

Answer
What are the check engine trouble codes.I am not aware of a frequent problem jumping time. The trouble code might point to a throttle position sensor. If the timing/belt or chain hasn't been changed it is definitely due.If you cannot get the vehicle to an Advance you may have to buy a code reader. They start out at around $80.Also have you're throttle body cleaned with intake and throttle body cleaner. There will be quite a bit of carbon,so be sure and clean it out.
