Nissan Repair: 1982 Datsun 280zx, jumper cables, datsun 280zx

We hooked up the jumper cables backwards to a dead battery and tried to start it.  I think it blew out the computer.  I am trying to get a new one but I don't know what it is called.  Can you tell me the name of the part or parts that I would need to replace?  Sincerely,  Keven

Hi Keven -

Before condemning the computer, try checking the fusible link and large circuit fuses. The box should be located on the fender well in the engine, off to the side. The fusible link could be in there, or part of the positive battery cable. Using an ohmmeter would help to find the open circuit.
