Ford Repair: ignition, ford ranger truck, ford ranger

ok so i lost my one and only key to my 1996 ford ranger truck and to have a key made by a locksmith was pricey so my roomate said for me to get a new ignition with a key at autozone. so i did and now he is gonna work on it but i want to make sure he knows how to do it right so any help would be appriciated

well its very easy to install the ign switch , ... on teh sterring cloumn there is a plastic cover and in teh cover under there is a hole that u stick in a pick and turn igntion switch and pull out on it and then install new one , but u will have to program the key if teh truck has a pats system
