Ford Repair: 2001 taurus Engine Noise U, proper lubricant, throttle linkage

Question
I have experienced  similar problems with my engine at  128k, as listed with the following Postings

I found this posting (see below) on your site. I am experiencing the same problem and about the same mileage.  I have determined that this squeak comes from the timing sensor.  Since this engine has electronic ignition it still needs something mechanical to tell it's at TDC.  It's a magnet spinning around on the top of a shaft.  Excuse my description, I am mechanically inclined but not mechanically literate.  Hopefully you can tell me what is the proper lubricant to use eliminate the noise.  Would spraying a pentrating lubricant like WD40 or some sort of silicone spray be acceptable?  Maybe you can tell me if this would be covered under the engine/drivetrain warrenty before I go in and try to fix it myself.

Thanks!

Question
Hi. I have a 2001 Taurus 3.0L with 90K that just started making a squeaking/chirping noise at idle. It goes away with acceleration, and doesnt change at all when a/c is turned on/off, doesnt increase when turning the steering wheel. One of the pulleys or the belt, right (idler, water pump)? That's what I thought until I listened for the location of the chirp/squeal. It's coming from the top of the engine, near where the throttle linkage hooks into the fuel system (no where near the front of the engine). I'm 95% sure the noise isnt reflecting back there from the pulleys, but I dont know of anything near the top of the engine that would cause that noise. It isnt any more noticeable when I remove the oil fill cap(like it might be internal engine trouble). Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

Is it the timing sensor?
I'm sure that my noises come from the top rear section of the engine under the fuel injection ,via  a sounding tube, it sounds like it is internal. What are the remedies?

Answer
you would have to replace the cam sensor , you can not lube it has to be replaced , and also it has to be timed correctly , the way i do it is take top plastic piece off and look where the shaft is pointing and put new one in the same spot  and done deal
