Ford Repair: Cruise Control, v6 mustang, clock spring

Question
I was wondering I have a 2001 v6 Mustang and the cruise control doesn't work I have checked the fuses in the car and under the hood and they all look to be in good condition so I'm guessing it's not there so what would you suggest I check or might be the prob it is the original controls and parts nothing on that system changed thanks for any and all help you may have.

does the cruise lite come on  ? if not i dont recomend that u do teh check unless u are familar with the system , because some test that i would tell u go through the clock spring which also controls the air bag , and if i touch wrong wire u will be upset , because air bags will deploy
