Ford Repair: odometer and speedometer malfunction, digital odometer, abs light

Tonight my ABS light came on. Usually this is resolved by adding brake fluid. Then my speedometer went to zero and stayed there. Then the digital odometer went to a row of bars. No numbers. All this happened in like 10 minutes.
Any suggestions???

Hello Barb,
        The ABS light sounds like it came on because the control module lost the vehicle speed signal, which is sent,on certain and most Fords,through the instrument cluster so it can count the mileage. I have seen the cluster short or fail internally and cause the same type of problems you are describing. You are going to have to take it to someone that can make sure that is what the problem is, or you could take your chances and try to send the cluster out for repair. Either way, it's going to get a little expensive. Sorry and good luck! Shaun.
