Ford Repair: 1985 Ford Truck, dipstick tube, old ford

My husband has a 302 motor in an old Ford truck he owns.  He recently went to have the oil changed and the technicians could not find the oil dip stick.  Can you please tell me where the darn thing is located so he'll know and can change the oil.

I'd appreciate any help you may be able to give me.

Paula, I am a little confused on this question.  Do you mean that the dipstick tube has fell of the truck and you need to know how to replace it?  Or do you mean that you just can't visually find the dipstick when you pop the hood?  The dipstick tube will come up from front of the engine, very near the bottom of the water pump.  If I didn't answer your question properly, please let me know.   Jason
