Ford Repair: 87 Ford F-150 dash warning light, ford f 150, oxygen sensor

Hello,
There is a red warning light that recently came on the lower left of the dash on
my 1987 F-150 4.9. It reads "e-miss". I'm having a tough time finding out
anything about this light. The truck runs fine. Any clue? Thanks, Michael

I have to admit I have not encountered this particular light, and I have been around Fords for a long  time. I suspect it is an emission reminder. Some trucks had this feature to remind the driver to have the emissions checked, most times to make sure the oxygen sensor is working correctly.

I don't have manuals at home, I can look this up Monday at work and let you know what I find.
