Ford Repair: 1999 Ford Expedition, pitman arm, ball joints

Question
Whenever I go over a speed bump, I am hearing a squishy/clunky noise wondering if it my shocks that need to be replaced or something more major. I also am having some very minor almost grinding sounds (although it doesn't sound like metal on metal) when I am breaking. I am assuming that it's my breaks that need to be replaced. If that's the case, could my breaks be causing a general squeal when I'm driving?

Answer
If you are hearing those kind of noises while braking you better get them checked ASAP. For your own safety and others. Certain types of brake wear will also cause noises as the wheels turn but not braking. Any brake noise is worth investigating.

There are several common suspension noises on Expeditions. Stabilizer bar links or bushings, tie rod ends, pitman arm, ball joints. Kinda hard to advise which one without hearing it.
