Ford Repair: Brake Caliper (Front) Replacement, disc brake caliper, needle nose pliers

Question
I have a 1989 Ford Ranger Custom pick up truck. It's a 6 cyl.,Fuel Injecters, 2.9Liter engine with
a 4-speed transmission. I need some advice on how to remove and replace the front disc brake caliper (Passenger side). Any suggestions? Safety tips?  I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you!

Answer
That should have pins that hold the caliper. If you don't have the correct tools, squeeze the retainer with needle nose pliers and tap the end with a hammer. Once you get it past the tabs, drive it out with a screwdriver or punch and hammer. Don't forget to use the copper seals on the hose end. This will have to be bled after putting on the new one, if you haven't done this kind of work before be careful or have a shop do it for you if you're not comfortable with it. Brakes are very important for your safety.
