Hello,
     I am in the process of bleeding my brakes and I just put on a new master cylinder as well.

I was curious if I need to bench bleed the master cylinder also? and if so, how?

Actually, I'm new at all of this and i'm trying to gleem what I can out of books etc.

The work is being done on my precious 1970 ford pck-up. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Skyler,
You must bench bleed a master cylinder before installing. Get a kit from your local parts house if one wasn't included with master cylinder. Install master in vice and install bleeder kit. Push on piston untill all air is out of master. Plug lines and install on truck. After all lines are installed, bleed entire brake system. GOOD LUCK!
