Ford Repair: 1990 Ford Thunderbird - High Idle, ford thunderbird, thigs

Question
I have a 1990 Ford thunderbird, which I cannot get to idle down.  I have been told that it could be an electronic part called an "idle control sensor", but I am a single father on a very limited budget and cannot afford to be wrong or have a professional do the job.  I'm not a tightwad, just don't have the funds.  Any advice or guidance would be most appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
There is no reason you should have to guess at a repair. Money is valuable and it needs to be saved.
What I would suggest you do is a few thigs:
1. Check the over all tuneup condition of the engine
2. Have the computer system checked for fault codes, identify them, and make the needed repair.

It is very possible that the ISC is faulty.......but I wouldn't go replacing anything before checking other options as well.
