Ford Repair: troubleshootihg engine problem, ford ranger, fuel pressure

i have a 1994 ford ranger 2.3l auto  the engine runs but sounds like it has a flat spot and wants too quit running sometimes no check engine light is on air filter not plugged was running good till just the last couple of days

I would suggest that you check a few things:
1. overall tune up condition of the engine.
2. Fuel pressure
3. Timing belt condition
4. computer system codes ...even IF the light isn't on.
