Ford Repair: 1993 park brake pulled to hard became lose, emergency brakes, ford aerostar

I was in the car and ready to park.  Put gear in park.  When I put on the park brakes I think is the emergency brakes I pulled it up to hard and now it seems loose.  It doesn't seem to be completely loose to me.  Is there some type of screws underneath that can tighten it up.  I want to do it myself.  I'm not a mechanic but if explained I can do it.  Don't have money to go to mechanic.  my e-mail is evonna_21@yahoo.com

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
These models are equipped with a self-adjusting parking brake system. No manual adjustment is required.
If the E-brkae now seems loose, I would suggest that you might of broken a brake cable. Have a garage take a look at your brakes.
