Ford Repair: Engine oil, blown head gasket, cracked block

Question
Hi Erik,
i recently purhased a 1993 Ford Escort, 4 cyl, 1.6L engine. Milage: 187,600 exactly.Automatic.
The car had been sitting for some time before I bought it.So I gave it a tune up.
I changed the oil, which was very dark;it looked like it had not been changed in a while.
I drained the old oil in a clear container.
When it is held up to sunlight I noticed it has a greenish tint to it,however ,it can only be seen this way.Is this a sign of something bad?Someone told me it may possibly be a head gasket leaking or a cracked block.
But the car never has overheated in the 200 miles I'd driven it before i changed the oil or otherwise notice anything unusual.
I know a blown head gasket would cause the oil to have a frothy milkshake appearance. The old oil did not look that way.
Is this cause for concern? Or perhaps it was caused by the oil not being changed and the car sitting awhile?
The car runs great after the tuneup and no other problems have occured.
Thank you for your opinion on this.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I think you are looking at the oil being stagnant for a while. What you will notice if you take new oil and pour it in the same type of container is a tannish/green tint to it. Don't get me wrong...it very well could be the start of a head gasket going south......BUT......when water and oil mix.....you get froth and muck.
