Ford Repair: whining noise, coolant level, ford taurus

Question
Hi Erik,

I sent a question to you the other day which you answered quickly, thanks (more below).  Have another one.  1999 Ford Taurus SE, 60,000 miles.  When coming to a light and applying the brakes, there is a whining noise that occurs (only time it does that).  It was brought to Ford and they said they hear that all of the time.  They changed the transmission fluid and everything looked good (pulled the pan..no metal).  Brakes were just changed.  Should I worry about this?  Also, my last question was about the location of the coolant sensor.  Does anything have to be removed to get at it or is it in plain sight because I still can't find it? Many thanks.

Answer
does it still make noise after the fluid was changed? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it.
As far as the coolant level sensor goes....I believe that it is in plain sight or you might have to remove the tank for the replacement of it.
Hope this helps,
Erik
