Ford Repair: 1995 Ford Thunderbird EGR No Flow Error, 1995 ford thunderbird, ford thunderbird

Question
I have a 1995 Thunderbird with the 4.6 V8 engine.  I have a check engine light and get the error code for "EGR Valve No Flow."  The EGR valve has been replaced twice now.  Any vacuum line that was leaking was replaced, but the error is still there.  A local mechanic said the computer might be going bad.  Any truth to this? Any ideas on what it might be?

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I hate to say that I don't agree with your local mechanic. I would tell you that it is time to remove the upper throttle body and then the EGR valve and then take a look in side the manifold. I think you'll find serious amounts of carbon blocking the passage way and causing that code.
Hope this helps,
Erik
