Ford Repair: tranny?, plug wires, top speed

I just bnought a 65 mustang and it has a 3 speed behind a ford 200. The exhaust seems to have a little leak but the engine sounds real strong. Only thing is when I drive it the power just isnt there, It doesnt seems to move like it should I mean ?I can rev it up real good and barely move a whole lot? What seems to be the deal?

I need you to explain in better detail what you mean by revving the engine up real good and the car barely moves a whole lot? The top speed of your vehicle should be about 80-90 mph with a really good tune up. Are the points good? How about the plugs and plug wires? It is possible that all you really need is a really good tune up. If you wish to clarify your statement to me, I would be happy to try and help you further.
