Ford Repair: Ford Explorer head gaskets, 4wd auto, head gaskets

Question
I have a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 4WD auto which began running hot one day. Took it back to the Chysler dealship where I bought it used. Has an extended warranty. They still have it after 18 days. Sent the heads out to have magnifluxed. Now they say they had to pull the engine to get the heads back on. Not sure if they pulled it completely of what. I find this hard to believe. Any experienced in this area.

Thanks,
Rich

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I have yet to see an engine that requires the removal of it to replace the cylinder heads. Besides, IF they took them off with the engine in the vehicle .......why can't they put them back on?
Hope this helps,
Erik
