Ford Repair: flywheel, diagnosis, fraction

Question
I took my car to a dealership because from time to time the starter would not work.  The dealership told me it was either the flywheel and/or the starter, I choose the starter because it was a fraction of the price of the flywheel.  Turns out the flywheel is the problem and now the dealership said they will fix it but I have got to pay?  This does not seem right.  Could you advise me on an acceptable approach.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
It seems that you made the choice, and now it is the other and you are now looking to them to cover your mistake. How does this not seem right? They gave you the option of the starter or the flywheel.........you took the starter because of the cost, which I can understand, but with out further diagnosis, it is not their fault.
