Ford Repair: 99 Ford Escort ZX2, Broken Air Conditioner, pop place, ford dealer

Is their a ball park figure for a broken air conditioner? Tried adding freon, but still didnt work. Unit turns on and the heater works, just no cold air. Car has never had a "tune-up" either, any estimates on that? Also, any advise as far as going to a ford dealer to fix or a mom and pop shop? Sorr so many Q's, and im not expecting an exact number, maybe just an at-most cost. Thanks for any help!

Hello and thanks for the question...I'll try to help.
I think a Mom/Pop place should be able to do just fine, for the minor things.....As far as the AC goes...I would bring it to a place that only does AC. As far as cost on these things....I couldn't even begin to guess. It really all depends on what the vehicle needs.
