Ford Repair: Reinstall guage indicators, v6 mustang, faceplace

Question
Dear Mr. Dave:

I have a 2001 V6 Mustang.  I recently purchased a new faceplate.  After I had installed the faceplace I reinstalled the guage indicators.  They are not working correctly as they go all the way to the high side.  Additionally my speedometer and tachometer do not work at all.  Did I miss something simple or did I really mess up the works.

Answer
If the needles are working, but not aligned, you may be able to readjust them.  If the gauges are not working, and the cluster is plugged in properly, the gauge is probably bad.  The gauges are sensitive and can be damaged easily.

I hope this helps,
Dave
