Ford Repair: Battery light, taurus wagon, alternator belt

Hi Erik,

I have a 93 Taurus wagon, 3.0. The battery light cam on a few weeks ago. I tested voltage, alt putting out 13.5v. I replaced battery (5 yrs old). Battery light still stays on. Do you have any tips on what the problem might be?

Hello and thanks for the question..I'll try to help.
I have a few questions first, so we can work through this.
Was there a load on when you tested it?
What was the engine RPM, when tested?
Have you checked the tension of the alternator belt?
Have you checked the wires going to the alternator, and are the good, clean, and tight?
