Ford Repair: Front end ball joints-repair, ball joints, ford explorer

It has been diagnosed that my ball joints are in need of repai. 2001 Ford Explorer! What is the average cost, labor, parts etc. Quoted as around $800.00....is this reasonable?

Hi Bill,
Sounds like somebody is pulling your strings. I've never seen a 2001 Explorer with worn out ball joints. Get a second opinion. Unless you have over 150K miles on it! And not all 4 ball joints will go out at one time!$600.00 at most. FIND ANOTHER MECHANIC!
