Ford Repair: steering control valve repair, 1970 ranchero, power ram

Hello,
My 1970 Ranchero's control valve is bad.  Rebuilt prices are too high in my opinion.  I think possibly a check valve is malfunctioning because there is no outside leakage.  The power ram is ok.  The pump is ok also.
Do I need any special tools to rebuild the valve?

There are special tools that you would need but, I must confess that I do not know exactly what the are off the top of my head. My recommendation would be to have the valve rebuilt or buy a new one as the tools will cost you more than it will to have it rebuilt or buy a new one.
