Ford Repair: A/C Evaporator, side fender, 1994 ford explorer

Question
Would you be able to tell me what the easiest way is to change the evaporator on a 1994 Ford Explorer?  Not that I think this is a cake job, but pulling the right side fender off does not make sense to me.

Thanks

Answer
Brenda,

You do not need to pull the right side fender off. All you need to do is to disconnect all your lines, remembering that they are all pressurized. And by law, you need to have a way to evacuate all the coolant from the lines as it is illegal to release it into the atmosphere. After you do all that, disconnect everything such as your accumulator and such parts and you should be able to remove it. Removing the fender will indeed make it easier to get it out but creates alot more work. Hope that this helps and if you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Good luck,
Ken
