Ford Repair: Leaking Holley Carburator, holley carburator, electric fuel pump

Question
Hey Ken:   I have a F250 Pulling Truck with a built up 460. I use a Holley 850DP on it. All of the sudden it seems to be leaking gas out of it and ending up in the crank case when the engine is off. I've pulled it apart and installed new gaskets. I noticed one time when I lifted it off the motor, gas was coming out the bottom of the carburator. I couldn't tell exactly where it was coming from. It was dripping from everywhere, until the float bowls were empty. I have a Holley 750DP on it now and it works fine. I also use a Holley electric fuel pump with a pressure reg.

Answer
Doug,

I would say the reason it was leaking is that your floats were bad in the 850. If you are inclined to fix the 850, go to a reputable auto parts store, such as Auto Zone, Napa or Advanced Auto and buy the appropriate rebuild kit. Hope that his helps and Good luck.
