Ford Repair: 1994 mustang engine upgrade, mustang engine, liter engine

Question
I currently own a 1994 mustang with the 3.8 liter engine and a 5 speed manual transmission.
I would like to upgrade to a newer 6 cylinder (1999) or newer because of the upgraded hp and performance.  What if anything is necessary to allow me to swap these out?  IE: sensors or computer changes or engine mounts.

Also how practical is it to swap in a 5 liter?

Thank you for any help and advise you can provide.

Answer
Mr. Raab,

Yes, you could upgrade to a 99 or newer engine but you will need to take the computer from the donor car and the processors, as well as the whole wiring harness. It would not be much harder to put in a 5.0 and you would need the same stuff as mentioned above to make the conversion work. You should not need to change engine mounts but do not rule out this possibility. If in doubt change them. Good luck.
