Ford Repair: Heater Core, dust accumulation, thunderbird lx

Question
This is a 1989 Ford Thunderbird LX 3.8 L V6.
I've removed the instrument panel and control panel, hoses, blower motor is disconnected, 3 nuts retaining the heater case have been removed. how do I get the heater assembly away from the dash panel and remove the heater assembly from the vehicle to remove the heater core?  Thank you for your help.

Answer
Kevin, I don't envy you - I hate those models when they need a heater core or evaporator core!  (That's why they call for 8 or 9 hours labor)
Once the dash is out of the way, the evaporator/heater box should have a few nuts from the engine compartment side (one is the behind the accumulator bracket, too) and a few more on the inside... I think there is another bracket on the driver side of the tunnel that holds it on the inside of the car.
While you've got it out, check the evaporator for any evidence of a leak (oily dust accumulation) and replace it, too, if there is any doubt!  You don't want to go there again.
Hope this helps...
